Northwest Archivists, Inc.

NWA At Large Student Scholarship

Intent
This annual $500 scholarship is established to encourage college-level students to develop their interest in archives administration as a career choice, through such means as research projects, unpaid internships and attendance at related conferences, seminars, workshops, institutes or other educational opportunities.

Guidelines
Applicants must be currently enrolled full-time with an accredited higher education institution in Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Idaho or Montana. They must be graduate students or undergraduates having completed a minimum of 160 quarter-system credit hours, or 110 semester-system credit hours. The scholarship must be used to allay direct costs; it may not be used to purchase supplies or equipment.

Recipients are not required, but encouraged to attend the Annual Meeting for a formal award presentation.

Selection
Current members of the Northwest Archivists Scholarships Committee will review applications and select an annual recipient. The application postmark deadline is March 1 and all applicants will be notified by early April. The scholarship may be used any time throughout the subsequent calendar year.
